Welcome to our Body Shape & Height Guide. Your body will be unique to you but there are common characteristics about bodies that allow us to define them to a certain shape. What shape are you?
Some of us will instantly recognise our bodies as one shape while others will feel that our body does not fit fully into one of the defined shapes. Different shapes may apply to different areas of your body. If you feel you are more than one shape focus on the one you most identify with but also be aware of how the other shape/s may affect your choices.
Height is also a consideration when it comes to clothing. How a garment looks and feels will be different on different heights. We recommend taking into account your height as well as your shape, and how that effects the look and feel of movement clothing on your body.
Our advice is meant to help make your shopping easier. This should mean fewer returns or delays because you receive a garment that is a flattering fit for your body shape or height and is ready to be worn.
Body Shapes
When viewing products and reading guides on the LiveLife Move website you will find that body shape is often mentioned. The symbols below represent certain areas of a body. If you are able to identify the symbol or symbols that match the closest to your body shape – for upper and lower body – it will help with choosing movement clothing that has a flattering fit… so you can look and feel amazing when you move.
Also note that body shapes do not reflect size. Shapes are about proportion and how one area of your body relates to another.
Upper Body Triangle
Movement Clothing Guide for big bust
- You consider yourself to be have a fuller bust
- Your bust is wider than your waist hips and thighs
- Can commonly be referred to as an inverted triangle
Hourglass
Movement Clothing Guide for narrow waist
- You may see yourself as having a narrow or small waist which creates a curvy overall body shape
- You waist is noticeably smaller than your bust and hips
- Your bust and hip mesaurements are roughly even
- You will likely have a curvy bust and hips
- Can commonly be referred to as a hourglass shape
Upper Body Rectangle

- You may see yourself as not particularly curvy
- Your shoulder/bust and hip/thigh measurement are nearly the same
- Your waist is not well defined
- Your proportions are even and do not have areas of fullness
- Can commonly be referred to as straight, athletic or a rectangle shape
Lower Body Triangle

- You may see yourself as having fuller thighs, hips and bottom
- Your thighs, hips and waist are wider than your shoulders and bust.
- Communicated in reverse your shoulders and bust are narrower than you waist hip and thighs.
- Can commonly be referred to as a pear shape or a triangle shape

- Your waist is your largest measurement so wider than your bust and hip/thighs
- You may or may not have a curvy bust or butt
- Can commonly be referred to as an apple or circle
Lower Body Rectangle

- You may see your lower body as stocky or straight
- Your hip and upper thigh measurement are nearly the same
- Your legs are not well defined and only slightly taper
- Can commonly be referred to as a rectangle shape
Height
Height influences how clothing looks and feels on our bodies. There are heaps of tricks and tips for dressing different heights. Also note that height does not reflect size. Height is about the length of your body and the balance of your upper and lower length.
Short
